Hatching Egg Policy

Buyer accepts and agrees to all risks, disclosed or undisclosed, outlined in this policy associated with the shipment of hatching eggs. NorthWoods Poultry (NWP) does not refund, exchange, credit, or offer discounts from purchases in partial or whole and assumes no responsibility or liability once the shipping courier takes custody of the package. All claims made due to, but not limited to, delays, damages, broken/cracked eggs, lost parcels, stolen goods, negligence, damaged packaging, lack of development, detached air cells, or other factors not listed should be handled directly with the United Stated Postal Service.

- I don't keep waitlists or take pre-paid orders. Please follow the Facebook page, send a PM, or email for availability.
- Opening season is weather dependent but I plan for March 1st.
- I cannot accommodate firm ship dates. Let me know what month you’d prefer.
- Ship dates are Mondays & Thursdays unless noted.
- Be prepared to pay immediately to secure your order once it is ready. Payment options are PayPal (FRIENDS AND FAMILY ONLY) or Venmo. A tracking number will be provided.
- If you to pay through Goods & Services on PayPal, you will be refunded and asked to re-send through Friends & Family. Failure to do so will have your order cancelled.
- The two shipping options are USPS Flat-Rate Priority Mail & Priority Mail Express.
- Specify if you want the package delivered or held for pick up. I will mark the package as best as possible, but I can’t control if the PO donot do as instructed. I’m not responsible for packages left outside in extreme weather conditions. I'd recommend you contact the PO in advance, so the employees are prepared.
- Buyer-cancelled orders will be refunded in full if it hasn’t been shipped. No refunds on shipped orders.
- Cancelled orders due to issues on my end (deaths/illness/injury, poor fertility, etc.) are fully refunded.
- I can’t guarantee hatch rates as so many uncontrollable factors can influence the outcome.
- Air cells can detach, they can be scrambled, cracked, broken, subjected to extreme temperatures, delayed or lost in transit.
- I send the freshest *hen* eggs possible - never from pullets. My personal hatching rates from my own birds are usually 90-100%.
- I will try to send extras, but there’s no guarantee. It will depend on availability.
- “No development” doesn’t mean the eggs weren’t fertilized. Fluctuating temperatures, handling, incubation methods, etc. can affect hatch rates. This can also be a reason for early deaths during incubation.
- In my experience, shipped Silkie & Satin eggs seem to have lower hatch rates than larger fowl.
- Temps for shipping eggs must be between 35°F-83°F. Hot/cold pack options are available.
- One 72-hr. heat pack is available for an additional $5.00.
- Two refrigerated cold packs are available for an additional $5.00.
- I do not breed birds with obvious genetic deformities. These birds are removed from the breeding program.
- I cannot guarantee deformities will not appear in later generations.
- Questions about my breed lines are welcome at any time.
