This is a *HOBBY*. I work a FT & PT job, volunteer at an animal shelter, & run a small farm. Being rude, impatient, insulting, insistent, accusatory, or hostile will get you blocked. You are not entitled to my birds, investments, labor, and time. I’m not a commercial hatchery. I do not work in customer service. I do not take returns. I do not need to ‘make it right’. I don’t need your unsolicited business advice. I’m sorry someone in your life died/is crying/is angry/is disappointed. But I do not owe you anything. If you want that kind of service, go to a commercial hatchery. 99.9% of the time I’m a pleasant person, but I have a very short patience for “adults”. Again, this is a *HOBBY*. - Lisa

NorthWoods Poultry does not refund, exchange, credit, or offer discounts from purchases in partial or whole and assumes no responsibility or liability once the customer or shipping courier takes custody of the eggs. If shipped, all claims made due to, but not limited to, delays (weather, mechanical, etc.), damages, broken or cracked eggs, lost packages, stolen goods, negligence, damaged packaging, lack of development, detached air cells, or other factors not listed should be handled directly with the carrier.

- Shipping is HARD on eggs. It can cause disruptions at the cellular level. I hatch from the same eggs I send to people the same time I ship. My hatch rate is over 90%. You don’t complain to a casino that you want your money back due to a bad hand at blackjack, lose it in a game of roulette, or fed it away into a slot machine. If you cannot accept you may have a 0% hatch rate, buy elsewhere.
“NO DEVELOPMENT” DOES NOT MEAN THE EGGS WEREN’T FERTILIZED.
- You CANNOT tell if the egg was fertilized after incubation as the process alters the blastoderm. So cracking them open to “check” is not an excuse. Fluctuating temperatures, humidity, shipping, excessive handling, incubator, incubation methods, etc. can affect hatch rates. I can’t control this. This can also be a reason for early deaths during incubation. A brand-new incubator right out of the box can be way off on settings. And you hatching thousands of eggs in your 50+ years of experience doesn’t mean diddly.

- In order for me to collect the freshest eggs, please allow 1-3 days to collect.
- Refunds are ONLY issued if eggs haven’t been shipped. No refunds for denying packages or returns to sender.
- I’m not responsible for packages left outside in extreme weather conditions. Check temps in advance. A 72-hour hot pack or 2 cold packs are available for $5.
- I can ship USPS or UPS. I highly recommend going with UPS right now. The USPS has been TERRIBLE with on-time deliveries.
- USPS: Specify if you want the package delivered or held for pick up. I will mark the package as best as possible, but I can’t control if the PO doesn’t do as instructed.
- UPS: Will deliver directly to your home. Please include any drop-off instructions if needed. However, I can’t control if UPS does not do as instructed.

- I make peanuts on this. My prices are comparable if not well BELOW what you might find at other home/farmsteads, hobbyists, exhibitioners, or breeders. Seldom do I ever break even.
- My farm is a finite space. A larger population size outside of my boundaries can provide much needed feedback about my lines from different sets of eyes. I can make better decisions about what to keep, what to cull, and what to bring in. So, if you're so inclined, constructive feedback is always welcome.
I operate on a first come, first serve basis. I can give you an idea when to expect your eggs based on the number of orders ahead of you.
