Metske is as quiet and sweet-natured as they come. She's very curious about new things and very little to no spook. Her calm, cool demeanor is accompanied by her energetic playfulness - as she loves to run around in the pasture with the other horses or is just as happy quietly grazing.
She has a gentle face with a soft, coffee-colored eye and calm expression. While she has quite a bit of growing yet to do, she's undoubtedly maturing into a stunning black swan. And this girl can canter! Her ability to transition from the trademark Friesian trot into a ground-clearing canter is effortless and sustained. This aptitude will, no doubt, come highly useful in her upcoming ventures as we plan to nurture these natural talents of hers and present them at her finest. |

In 2017, Elsa was picked up from her breeder in Illinois as a weanling filly and brought back up north to Minnesota in the span of a day. And from that day onward, Elsa has proven herself to be an exceptionally quirky, curious, and personable horse. Even as a young filly, she was extremely loyal, quick to learn, and always gives it her best effort.
She is the kind of horse that will follow you anywhere and loves to get attention - especially if you have a body brush in your hand! And her friendly, puppy-dog personality made her a favorite among barn visitors as she will "smile" for a treat.
Saddle training/riding her was nothing short of a breeze and could be considered one of those horses who is "born trained ." Elsa does have more of a very energetic trot (like the Friesian) and a very nice, long, ground-covering stride in the canter.
Overall, she's a very nicely put together mare and has been a healthy individual from the start. Sheis an extremely easy keeper. Elsa is a nice, big, full-bodied mare like her dam and took on more of the thicker bone from her sire. Straight, clean legs with good pastern angles. Big, rock hard, healthy hooves and has been barefoot her entire life. Her mane and tail are super thick and luxurious. She does have some feathering but not nearly as much as the purebred. She maintains her jet-black color almost all year and sun-bleaching on her is quite minimal. Elsa is not gaited.
